LUIS OYARZÚN: THE DIARY AS A TRAVELLING LOG. MODERNITY AND EVERY-DAY CHILEAN CULTURE
Keywords:
Diary, Booklog, Modernity, Every-day Chilean Life, CriticismAbstract
The article constructs a reading of the diary of Luis Oyarzún emphasizing, fi rstly, the systematic presence
of enunciation marks that transform the text into a travelling record without depriving it of its diaryrelated
features. Secondly, the article approaches this modality in the diary as an instance that allows to
visualize an essential element of modernity (namely, its rationalistic and expaning orientation) which
sustains Oyarzún’s criticism to every-day Chilean culture.
