The reference to “Alone’s diary” highlights the texts that have been published about the author during the period 1917-1947. The hyposthesis of this article determines that this Diary presents an aesthetic model that directs writing as well as the diarist’s everyday practices. This model is a tributary of the Chilean “belle époque” at a time when this period agonizes in Europe and America. This fact could explain the specific features of Alone’s aesthetic model as reflected in his Diary. In this sense, the article deals with the diary of an epigone.
